Word of the Gay: "Male Lesbian"

A "male lesbian" is a male-bodied individual who identifies as a lesbian both in their physical attraction and interest in queer women's culture.

In other words they're genderqueers that don't want to admit they're transgender.

Guydyke is a similar term, there is a lot of overlap in terminology.

I am just a guy. I am in a female body. Most lesbians can't stand me with no reason I can see. I think lesbians can be really nice and cool, but most I've known were cold with a huge chip on their shoulder. Especially if they were lesbians because they were done wrong by a man. (And I don't go around saying, "Hi! I'm a man.")I am very interested in gay culture. Gotta think about this word.

Oh, Eddie Izzard - the best male lesbian of them all (and executive transvestite to boot).

I really don't know what to say. I'm a female. Was born a female. Now a 20 y.o woman. I ID as lesbian. I don't know...if a biological man says he is a lesbian, then he is probably a man who is going through (psychologically) the stages of MTF. He may see himself as a woman and may actually be one on the inside, but was born a boy, yet is still attracted to women. If a man gets surgery and goes through the MTF transition successfully, and still dates women, doesn't that mean that he is now a she and she is a lesbian? I dunno, I just want to be accepting or at least understanding of feelings. As lesbians we should at least hear people's sides out before blocking them.
