Gayness at the Oscars

Dustin Lance Black's acceptance speech for Best Original Screen Play for MILK, included a shout out to LGBT youth.

Sean Penn's acceptance speech for Best Actor included a plea for equality and pointed the finger against those who voted for proposition 8.

I liked Black's speech but I have to say I just looooved Sean Penn's. He went up there and basically told everyone that voted yes on Prop 8 to go sit in a corner and think about it. And I just love shaming (the right people that is) so I was glad...it took the sting out of the Dark Knight not really getting anything ~_~

Both of these speeches made me cry and feel so happy at the same time. I love that Sean Penn, a "macho" straight man, is asking for the tolerance, love and acceptance for the LGBT community. He was so great as Harvey Milk (he really became him). My friends and I cheered when DLB and SP were announced as winners.
